Several grant consultants charge a success fee — a cut of the funding they help you win. Under FAR 31.205-33(f), contingent fees paid out of SBIR/STTR award funds are unallowable, and the Grant Professionals Association treats percentage-based compensation as an ethics violation. Companies that pay success fees from award funds risk audit findings and repayment.
You pay us a fixed price, before you know the outcome. Our incentive is to tell you honestly when not to apply. A consultant paid on contingency has the opposite incentive.
